THE WORKBOOK

Automated message workflows: three planning examples

Trigger, timing, cancellation and review requirements for common account events.

By Onlytool · Published 10 September 2026

These are illustrative planning scenarios, not reports of vendor tests or customer outcomes. Adapt the examples to an account you are authorised to operate. Use the field guide for the underlying method and the interactive tool for your own inputs.

THE SITUATION

A new-subscriber orientation

A completed subscription event is available in the intended tool.

Work through it

Draft one useful introduction and link to information that exists. Define a delay, an opt-out condition and a check for an active conversation.

What to check

Confirm that a duplicate event and a reply during the delay do not produce an extra introduction.

THE SITUATION

A renewal acknowledgement

The operator wants to acknowledge an actual renewal event.

Work through it

Verify that the tool exposes a completed renewal rather than a predicted billing date. Keep the wording factual and avoid implying that a payment succeeded before confirmation.

What to check

A failed or reversed event must not be treated as a successful renewal.

THE SITUATION

A manually approved update

An operator selects a relevant audience for a specific account update.

Work through it

Record why the audience is eligible, who approved the draft and when the information expires. Cancel the plan if the underlying update changes.

What to check

Do not quietly turn a one-time approved audience into an indefinite follow-up sequence.

YOUR WORKING DOCUMENT

Keep the decision
with the evidence.

Use the plain-text worksheet in your own approved system. It contains headings only, so you control which information is recorded and where it is stored. Nothing entered in a downloaded file is returned to this publication.

Common mistakes to avoid

  1. Assuming a planning export is an executable integration.
  2. Checking eligibility only at the beginning of a long delay.
  3. Treating a higher send count as proof that the sequence is useful.

Before implementing a workflow, confirm that it is supported by the chosen product and permitted under current platform rules. A planning example does not establish either. OnlyFans terms.
